SUMMARY:Vasoregulation: Signaling and Multicellular Inputs
DESCRIPTION:This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC) is focused on exploring all aspects of vascular biology. For nearly 40 years\, the Smooth Muscle Conference had previously provided a forum for researchers focused on this important and unique field. For 2024\, this updated SRC will focus on providing a new and improved venue for vascular biologists\, neuroscientists\, and physiologists who study smooth muscle cells\, endothelial cells\, pericytes\, astrocytes\, and cerebral blood flow.

SUMMARY:Immuno-Oncology Summit 2024
DESCRIPTION:In the past 11 years\, CHI’s Immuno-Oncology Summit has grown to be the premier annual meeting for advancing biotherapeutics. This summit offers a comprehensive 3-day 6-track program\, exploring bi- and multispecific biotherapeutics; highlighting the latest developments in CAR T therapies\, emerging targeting technologies\, personalized immunotherapy\, and cell-based immunotherapies; and addressing the challenges of overcoming tumor resistance. Attendees delve into predictive models\, tumor microenvironment modulation\, and the increasing role of AI and machine learning in cancer immunology. The summit serves as a vital platform for exchanging high-quality research and fostering collaboration in the ever-evolving landscape of immuno-oncology. \nEvery year\, 375+ thought leaders and influencers from industry and academia converge to showcase the latest breakthroughs in cancer immunology. Beyond the enriching discussions\, the dynamic venue fosters extensive networking and collaborative opportunities\, empowering teams to focus on their objectives. \nWe look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia this August 7th-9th\, where we convene to advance our understanding of the immune system\, propelling the development of next-generation immunotherapies to optimize patient treatment outcomes.

SUMMARY:Google DeepMind's Gemini Models in Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Application of Large Language Models in medicine is probably among the most impactful developments that could change the lives of billions. \nAt the same time\, it’s the most challenging application because it requires advanced reasoning\, access to up-to-date medical knowledge\, and understanding of complex multimodal data. \nGoogle DeepMind’s Gemini models\, which have advanced general capabilities\, showed strong possibilities in the medical domain. \nIn this in-person BuzzRobot community meetup\, researchers from Google DeepMind will talk about Med-Gemini\, a family of capable multimodal models that specialize in medicine. \nThe researchers evaluated Med-Gemini on 14 medical benchmarks\, establishing new state-of-the-art (SoTA) performance on 10 of them\, and surpass the GPT-4 model family on every benchmark where a direct comparison is viable. \nMoreover\, Med-Gemini’s performance suggests real-world utility by surpassing human experts on tasks such as medical text summarization\, alongside demonstrations of promising potential for multimodal medical dialogue\, medical research\, and education. \nLocation: Palo Alto\, California
