SUMMARY:Immuno-Oncology Summit 2025
DESCRIPTION:Commercializing breakthrough immune-oncology therapeutics is becoming increasingly challenging due to funding limitations\, high cost and attrition rates in the clinic\, regulatory uncertainties\, persistent therapeutic safety and efficacy concerns\, and a general lack of understanding of basic biology guiding research in this space. As we develop the 2025 conference program\, we are struck by the fact that\, despite these challenges\, there remains a strong desire to continue to find effective therapeutics for solid tumors. The 13th Annual 2025 Immuno-Oncology Summit showcases successes in preclinical and clinical studies grounded in a deep understanding of biology. Coverage spans solid tumor innovations\, including bi/multispecific antibodies\, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)\, allogenic and in vivo CAR-Ts\, TILs\, TCRs\, Tregs\, multiple cell therapies working together\, the tumor microenvironment\, innate immunity\, gamma delta T cells\, NK cells\, organoid modeling\, data science\, and machine learning. The program also explores autoimmunity as a critical and complementary area of focus.

SUMMARY:Achieving High Purity in Complex Antibody Formats (free webinar)
DESCRIPTION:As antibody therapeutics evolve beyond traditional monoclonal formats\, the purification of complex modalities\, such as bispecifics\, multispecifics\, fragments\, and Fc-fusions\, presents significant challenges in achieving high purity and yields. Conventional platforms like Protein A\, while foundational\, often fall short in accommodating the structural diversity and unique biochemical properties of these engineered molecules. \nThis webinar will explore various purification strategies and workflow designs tailored for next-generation antibody formats\, with a particular focus on multispecifics. Attendees will gain insights into how orthogonal affinity chromatography solutions can be leveraged as modular tools to streamline downstream processing\, enhance selectivity\, and improve overall product quality. \nThrough real-world case studies and practical examples\, this session will highlight innovative approaches to maximizing recovery and purity while maintaining scalability and robustness\, enabling efficient transition from development to manufacturing. Whether you’re optimizing a current process or developing new purification workflows\, this webinar will provide valuable insights on achieving high-quality outcomes in complex antibody purification.

SUMMARY:Save Our Science Panel & Speed Mentoring
DESCRIPTION:The US Presidential administration is making unprecedented\, sweeping funding and staff cuts to many government life science institutions such as the NIH and NSF. Academic institutions are already feeling the effects\, some have canceled life science graduate admissions for the next year. Thousands of life scientists who have lost their jobs and funding\, and these cuts will cause irreparable and incalculable damage to one of the world’s leading research and world health super powers. \nLife scientists need to understand the changes and learn how best to stay informed and prepare for what lies ahead. Those directly affected may need to pivot their career paths into the private sector and it’s conceivable that some scientists may need to relocate outside of the US. \nOf course\, the life science industry as a whole should take actions to prevent this potential brain drain and dissolution of our infrastructure. We’ve assembled a panel of experts which will help us to understand the scope of the changes that are happening as well as how best for us to fight back. The SOS panel: \n\nAdriana Bankston\, PhD\, AAAS STPF/ASGCT Congressional Policy Fellow\, US House of Representatives\nColette Delawalla\, PhD\, Executive Director\, Stand Up for Science\nAlyssa Sinclair\, PhD\, Incoming Assistant Professor\, Rice University\, SCIMaP Co-Founder\nEllen Kuwana\, MS\, Kuwana Consulting\, Award-winning Science Communicator (Moderator)\n\nThis panel will take place during the first hour of the event\, and will be followed by a virtual speed mentoring activity\, where job seekers and early stage scientists (mentees) can learn from more experienced life science professionals and those who are hiring (mentors). The Speed Mentoring is a new “flavor” of the Scientific Speed Networking we are introducing to help with the current job situation in the US. The speed mentoring activity is optional\, and we ask that if you sign up for it\, that you attend the event ONLY to mentor or to be mentored\, please no selling/business development activities. If you would like to attend the panel and not the speed mentoring\, choose the “general” ticket. \n \nHosted by \nBiotech Networks
