SUMMARY:Excellence Through Teaming
DESCRIPTION:LSPA has teamed up with The Leadership Edge to bring you a workshop that combines content and activities that provide a greater understanding of team development while understanding how to best leverage various personality types. Participants will walk away with new tools and skills to help their teams reach their highest potential. \nWorkshop Agenda \n1. Best Teams Discussion \nThe Best Team Discussion provides the participants with the opportunity to share their experiences in teams and to envision the attributes of a high-performing team.  This discussion sets the stage for the day’s activities.  The group will then begin to evaluate their performance against that of a great team\, identifying preliminary “development gaps”. \n2. Understanding Personality Styles \nOne of the greatest barriers to effective communication is understanding that all people don’t think like we do. Through the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Assessment\, participants will gain a greater understanding of their personality style and the styles of those with whom they communicate.  These may be members of their team\, peers\, or managers.  They will learn to anticipate and understand how and why people respond and act the way they do.  Participants will acquire skills to improve communication with employees\, increase team participation\, streamline team decision-making\, and position team members for success. \n3. Teaming \nThe balance of both tasks and relationships is critical to developing a high-performing team.  Through their participation in an engaging teaming activity called “LegoPerson” and a discussion of the Tuckman Model of Team Development\, participants will identify the characteristics of a high-performing team\, understand the stages of team development\, and gain a greater insight into the keys to successful team participation.  Concepts including the importance of vision\, agreed-upon goals\, role definition\, decision-making skills\, the need for a common language\, and planning are explored as the result of this activity.  Through their participation in this activity\, participants will clearly identify their strengths and developmental needs as it relates to each of their respective teams. \nDuring the workshop participants will: \n\nImprove communication and understand strategies for deploying your individual strengths for team success.\nIdentify how your preferences impact your ability to work effectively with others in the workplace.\nUnderstand how teams evolve over time and accelerate the process of becoming a high- performing team.\nRecognize the value of teams to the organization and individual.\n\nCourse Teacher – Jeff Harmon\, Facilitator\, Executive Coach\, The Leadership Edge \nFor more information and other courses click the link from our partners at The Leadership Edge – https://theleadershipedge.com/ \n*A light breakfast and lunch will be provided during the course!

SUMMARY:Drug Discovery Lunch & Learn: Optimizing Your Strategy to Find New Oncology Therapies
DESCRIPTION:Discovery oncology plays a pivotal role in advancing our understanding of cancer biology and in developing innovative therapies that offer new hope to cancer patients. It requires collaboration among scientists\, clinicians\, pharmaceutical companies\, and regulatory agencies to navigate the complex journey from the lab bench to the patient’s bedside. Its goal is to translate scientific discoveries into real-world treatments that improve cancer outcomes. Can’t attend live but still want to meet with a Charles River expert? Complete the registration process and we will be in touch with scheduling options. \nEvent Agenda: \nThe following key areas of oncology drug discovery will be covered: \n1. Identification and discovery of molecular targets expressed within or on the surface of cancer cells or within the tumor microenvironment. These targets can include mutated genes\, abnormal proteins\, preferentially expressed proteins\, or signaling pathways that drive cancer growth\, survival\, or immune evasion. \n2. High-throughput screening and other techniques used to identify potential drug candidates that can bind to and modulate the identified cancer targets. \n3. Optimization to enhance drug-like properties\, such as potency\, selectivity for cancer cells\, stability\, bioavailability\, and systemic half-life. \n4. Early assessment of combination therapies that address the complexities of cancer biology. \n5. Outsourcing oncology drug discovery as a strategic option to expedite development by leveraging external expertise and resources.
