7th BFC Global Healthcare BD & Investment Conference

January 7

During the last three years, we have seen explosive growth in out-licensing of Chinese innovations to global biopharma companies.

  • Novo acquired the leading asset from KBP for $1.3B USD
  • Janssen struck a $245M upfront payment licensing deal with Cellular Biomedicine Group (CBMG) for CAR -T cancer therapies
  • Merck moved forward with a $9.3B ADC deal (including $175M upfront) with Kelun-Biotech for a portfolio of ADC assets
  • BioNTech in-licensed two ADC assets from Duality Bio, paying $170 million upfront, plus milestone and royalty payments

In addition to these examples, we are witnessing new out-licensing deals between Chinese biotech companies and global pharma companies almost every week. These deals stem from the emerging remarkable scientific discoveries (Great Science) from leading Chinese biotech and medtech companies. However, despite these advancements, there are still major challenges to overcome, including reimbursement, product commercialization, venture financing, and entry to the global market. The purpose of this conference is to promote industry growth through the participation and collaboration of multiple parties around the world.

The conference will highlight key trends in the following areas:

  • Biotech capital market outlook and investment opportunities in the US and Asia
  • Licensing trends in 2023 among Asian and US Pharmaceutical and Biopharma companies
  • Leading biotech company road show presentations

Senior executives from more than 600 public & private healthcare companies across the biopharmaceuticals, IVD, medical device, and healthcare services sectors attended our previous event in 2023. More than 300 PE and VC investors from over 100 firms were also present. The conference is an ideal setting for networking with the senior executives of your potential partners. Company management teams and investors will be able to participate in one-on-one and small-group meetings through BFC Group.
