Berkeley Lab 90th Anniversary – Virtual Tour of the Joint Genome Institute (June)
June 30, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
In 2021, Berkeley Lab’s 90th year, we’re celebrating past achievements and imagining tomorrow’s solutions. As part of this celebration we are highlighting our facilities like never before! In this pre-scheduled, live, interactive, presentation by Lab staff and scientists you will learn about the Joint Genome Institute.
The mission of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Genome Institute (JGI), a DOE Office of Science User Facility of Berkeley Lab, is to advance genomics in support of the DOE missions related to clean energy generation and environmental characterization and cleanup. Supported by the DOE Office of Science, the JGI unites the expertise at Berkeley Lab, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. During this virtual tour, you will learn how JGI provides integrated high-throughput sequencing, DNA design and synthesis, metabolomics and computational analysis that enable systems-based scientific approaches to these challenges.
Join a Zoom Webinar for approximately 60 minutes including a live presentation and Q&A!
