Builds Bio+ and IPS invite you to an exclusive networking breakfast and innovation showcase designed for biotech, biomanufacturing, and life sciences professionals looking to connect and explore opportunities in cell and gene therapies and urban laboratories across the New York Metro and Philadelphia ecosystems, two powerhouses in developing these breakthrough treatments towards cures for previously untreatable diseases.
Program will feature:
- Spirovant Sciences, a gene therapy company headquartered in Philadelphia, developing treatments and cures for respiratory diseases including cystic fibrosis. Examine the benefits and considerations needed when constructing state-of-the-art laboratories in densely populated urban settings. Learn from IPS’ work with Spirovant, on a recent high-rise gene therapy research facility, and gain insights into innovative strategies for urban lab development.
- Factory District and Innovation Triangle – West Harlem. Embedded in the beautiful tree-lined streets of West Harlem’s Manhattanville neighborhood, the four-acre 1.5mm rsf Factory District connects its125th Street urban Factory District campus and the world-renowned campuses of Columbia University and City College of New York. This triangle of innovation is without equal, boasting the greatest concentration of academic and research excellence in New York City.
- B+LABS, a Brandywine Realty Trust Community powered by the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center. Located within Cira Centre at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, B+labs operates 50 000 sf of wet lab and office space to support the creation, growth, and success of companies discovering and developing novel medicines and technologies. Current B+labs-located companies, along with their founders, investors, and collaborators, are working with emerging and proven therapeutic modalities to change clinical treatment paradigms and outcomes for patients around the world. B+labs supports these companies with lab space, operational capabilities, and a network of organizations and individuals with expertise across the lifecycle of growth and product development to ensure Philadelphia remains at the frontier of medical innovation.
- The New York Genome Center. The New York Genome Center, at 101 Avenue of the Americas, New York City, was the first office to lab conversion in Manhattan. The facility serves as a state-of-the-art hub for genome sequencing, analytics, bioinformatics, high-performance computing and research. The facility’s features include:
- Over 170,000 square feet, including 30,000-square-feet of sequencing lab space
- A dedicated open-plan bioinformatics floor to encourage discussion and collaboration
- A data storage annex to safely store the immense amounts of data produced
- Research labs with space to host a number of principal investigators and their teams from various member institutions
- An Innovation Lab to develop new sequencing technologies
- A CLIA/CLEP lab to service clinical needs
- A modern, divisible conference center/event space with the capacity to hold 180 people for both NYGC and external events
